I'm late on posting CARNIVORE weeks 5,6 and 7 to the blog. So here you go! There are still prints of all works available in the Carnivore shop. Original art is also available. All prints are on archival Hahnemuhle photo rag paper. Thanks for looking!
CARNIVORE week 4 - Felis Catus
There are more than 70 domestic cat breeds and unlimited mixed breeds. Cats are valued world wide by humans as one of the most popular pets and hunters of vermin. They are prolific breeders and it is important to spay and neuter pets as well as feral colonies to prevent overpopulation and the consequent suffering of the animals. Contact your local animal shelter or favorite rescue to donate and support their work or adopt a great cat friend into your family!
CARNIVORE week 3 - Strix Nebulosa (Great Grey Owl)
Great Grey Owl
The Great Grey Owl is documented as the larges species of owl by length in the world. It ranges across the Northern Hemisphere and is the only species of Strix found in both Western and Eastern Hemispheres. Due to their large size, adult birds have few natural predators. The greatest threat to this species is the harvest of timber and the clear cutting of dead trees which adults depend on for perching while hunting and full canopy protection for juvenile birds.

CARNIVORE week 2 - Pteronura Brasiliensis (Giant River Otter)
Giant River Otter
The Giant River Otter is the largest member of the weasel family reaching up to six feet in length. It ranges across north-central South America, living mostly in and around the Amazon River and in the Pantanal. Due to fur poaching in the 1950's and 60's it has been listed as endangered since 1999 with wild populations estimated at below 5000. It is the most social species of the weasel family, living in family groups of three to eight members.

Single in the Suburbs
I recently illustrated the spread and spots for feature article, "Single in the Suburbs", by Melissa Jacobs, for the February issue of Main Line Today. This assignment was really fun and I had a good time using my imagination to depict the article's dishing on candid tales of the trials, tribulations and successes of the over 40 divorced and dating scene of the Philadelphia suburbs.
From middle aged benz-driving cougars and their boy-toys to the blatant forwardness rife in today's dating app culture, this article is an eyebrow-raising read. Check out the spread (above) and the accompanying spots to the story in all of it's juicy detail below.
Special thanks to Cristela at Main Line Today for the Art Direction!
